Not investment advice
O8EN Trading publishes research software and educational information. Nothing on this site or in the members’ area is investment advice, a recommendation, an offer or a solicitation to buy or sell any security, future or other instrument. I do not know your circumstances, and the systems do not either. O8EN Trading does not manage money, hold client assets or place trades for anyone.
Simulated results are hypothetical
Performance shown for O8Auto and O8Invest, and every mix, blend and calculator result built from them, comes from applying each system’s written rules to historical market data with modelled trading costs. It was not achieved by trading real money, and it was produced with the benefit of hindsight. Simulated results have limits you should understand:
- Real trading brings slippage, delays, data errors, taxes and fees that a simulation can understate.
- Markets change. A rule that worked in the past may stop working.
- No simulation can fully capture how a real person behaves in a real drawdown.
- No account is promised to achieve results like those shown. Past results do not predict future returns.
How the results on this site were made
- O8Invest, 50 years. The written rules applied to market history from January 1976 to September 2026, using long-history market data (stock indices, Treasury yields, gold and commodity futures) for the years before today’s funds existed, with modelled costs. Compared with US stocks, the total US stock market with dividends.
- O8Invest, today’s funds. The same rules applied to the ETFs and micro futures available today, from 2 January 2008 to 21 October 2026 (4,731 trading sessions). Compared with the S&P 500 (SPY) and a 60/40 portfolio over the same days.
- O8Auto. The written rules applied from 25 September 2006 to 16 October 2026 with modelled costs, compared with QQQ bought and held. The rules were built on data up to 31 December 2015, so the years from 2016 onward are years they had never seen. 2026 is a part year.
- Mixes, the blend and the calculator. The monthly returns of O8Auto and O8Invest, January 2008 to September 2026, combined in the shares shown and rebalanced monthly, with additions made at the end of each month. Worst falls in these tables use month-end values. Taxes and fees beyond the modelled trading costs are ignored.
- Sharpe ratio. Annual return divided by annual volatility, with no risk-free rate subtracted.
Stock signals
O8Radar publishes signals and plans for US stocks as decision support. A signal is a probability, not a promise, and a stop does not guarantee an exit at that price: prices can gap past it. O8Radar publishes no return figures and makes no claim that its signals will outperform the market.
Futures, short positions and leverage
O8Invest and O8Auto can use futures, short positions and exposure larger than the money in an account. These can magnify losses and can lose more than the amount you set aside. Futures contracts expire and have to be rolled. Make sure you understand the instruments and your broker’s margin rules before you trade them.
Who this is for
Trading and investing involve risk, including the loss of all the capital you commit. Do not trade money you cannot afford to lose. Speak to a licensed adviser if you need advice about your own situation.
